Nakiri Sheath #M-312 180mm
The sheath aka saya covers your knife and helps protect from damage during transport or when kept in a draw. We strongly recommend using sheaths/sayas to all our customers as they are a snug fits and will prevent scratches and bending. The sheaths do not contain any strong resigns and are moisture resistant and are made with Magnolia wood. Please be sure to clean and dry your knife well before placing into the knife cover, each knife cover is different when it comes to brands so please make sure you select the matching sheath to its blacksmith.
The Nakiri’s rectangular, flat-edged blade is meant for the push/pull chopping of vegetables. Since the entire flat edge of the knife kisses the cutting board at once, you won’t turn the vegetable into an accordion. Brunoise, julienne, French fries, sliced onions, oblique carrots-this is where nakiris excel. In fact, make onion soup the first day you have a nakiri. The first few cuts will feel odd, but you’ll get the hang of it. After slicing the 10 onions needed for the soup, you’ll be searching the kitchen for another onion to cut just for fun. These knives are addictive.
